Quilting Fun

About a year and a half ago I discovered that in order to maintain my sanity I needed a project. Not so much to keep me busy, no mom really needs to keep busy, but to give me something that I could see progress on. Laundry, dishes, and other household chores never seem to have an end. There is always something that gets undone. I have done many other sewing projects but these are the few that I have pictures of.
This is my most recent quilt. I still have to put a back on it and quilt it. I am thinking about hand quilting it but we shall see.
This one is Garen's quilt. It is called a Disappearing Nine. It is hard to tell what the pattern is because the print is so busy. One thing that I have learned is that if you want the pattern to stand out you have to be careful about the prints you chose.
This is Troy's quilt. It was easy but looks really cool. He really liked being able to pick the fabric that I used.
This is Matthew's quilt. It is a nine patch and again it is really busy.
This is the first quilt that I made. It is a variation of Turning Twenty. Really easy and a great way to use a lot of fabric.

The Zoo

We went to Idaho Falls while Layne went on a trip for work. While we were there we went to the zoo. Here are a few pictures from that trip. It was a lot of fun for the kids. Thanks Dynell for coming and bring the kids. (Troy helped me type. He likes to find the letter on the keyboard.)

Twin Falls Parks

We have a lot of parks here in Twin and it is fun discovering all of them. Here are a few pics of our park hopping

Rainy Day

What do you do with two busy boys on a rainy day? This is what we came up with.

Garen is now 6 months old. He has two teeth on the bottom.

There is also a lake just up from the river. We went there and had a picnic. The boys really liked the play ground.

We discovered Shoshone Falls. It is really pretty. Matthew thought it was to high and it scared him. Troy thought it was great. Garen didn't really care.
